Verify System

A panel members interact with once to prove they are human and get in — as a reaction, a button, or a dropdown — with the roles, the design and the replies all yours.

On this page

Verification is a message in a channel that grants a role when somebody interacts with it. Everything about that message — its channel, its design, its buttons, the roles it hands out and what it says back — is configured on the dashboard, and it is published straight to Discord from there.

Setting one up

  1. Switch the system on

Onboarding & Access → Verify System.

  2. Create a configuration

A server can keep several — a main gate, a rules re-accept, an age gate. Each is its own panel in its own channel.

  3. Choose the type

Reaction, Button or Dropdown. The builder only shows the settings that type actually uses.

  4. Design the message

Title, description, color, thumbnail, image, footer, fields — or a Components V2 layout. There is a default template that reads sensibly out of the box and changes its instruction line to match the type you picked, until you edit it yourself.

  5. Add options and their roles

One option for a plain gate. Each option carries a label, an optional emoji and the roles it grants.

  6. Pick the channel and publish

Choose a channel, or let Arclo create a #verification channel for you. Publishing posts the message; publishing again edits it in place rather than posting a second one.

The first publish opens a setup guide

It walks through the Discord-side half — making the rest of the server invisible to unverified members — which Arclo cannot do for you.

Get verified

Welcome to our server!

To gain access to all server features and channels, please complete the verification process using the option below.
Verify
A button panel with the default design.

The three types

TypeHow it worksGood for
ReactionMembers react to the message with an emoji. The lightest possible gate; also the most bot-friendly.
ButtonOne or more buttons under the message. Up to 25.Most servers. Clear, deliberate, and hard to do by accident.
DropdownA select menu with up to 25 options.A gate that also asks a question — pick your region, pick your platform.

Role modes

Shared with Reaction Roles. New verification configurations default to Grant only, which is almost always what a gate wants.

ModeWhat clicking does
ToggleClicking the button gives the role, and clicking it again removes it.
ReverseClicking the button removes the role if the member has it — clicking it again gives it back.
Grant onlyClicking the button gives the role permanently — it can't be removed through this message.

Settings

Roles to add
What a verified member gets — normally your member role.
Allow multiple options
Whether a member may hold roles from more than one reaction, button or dropdown option. When off, picking a new option removes the previous option's roles.
Message above the embed
A plain line above the card, which is where a mention would actually ping.
Private replies
Every outcome — verified, already verified, something went wrong — is an editable message only that member sees.
Log channel
Verifications are logged through the Verify logger, set once for the whole system rather than per panel.

Two ways to gate a server

  1. Grant a member role. @everyone can see the verification channel and nothing else; the member role opens the rest. Cleanest, and the usual choice.
  2. Remove an unverified role. Everybody arrives with a restricted role (from Auto Roles); point the option's roles at that role and set the Role mode to Reverse, and verifying takes it off. Useful when you want the restriction to be visible.

Arclo's role must be above the roles it grants

This is the single most common cause of a verification panel that appears to do nothing. See Permissions Arclo needs.
