Information Channel

Build a read-only rules or info channel out of banners, embeds and Components V2 blocks, publish it element by element, and edit it later without deleting anything.

A rules channel is usually a wall of text somebody pasted in once and cannot edit without reposting. The Information Channel is a list of elements you arrange on the dashboard and publish individually — change one paragraph and only that message is edited.

How it works

  1. Pick the channel

    An existing one, or let Arclo create a read-only channel for you.

  2. Add elements

    Each element is one Discord message: a banner image, an embed, a plain text block, or a separator.

  3. Arrange them

    Drag to reorder. The order in the list is the order in the channel.

  4. Publish

    Arclo posts everything that is new and edits everything that changed. Nothing is deleted and reposted, so the channel keeps its message history and its links keep working.

Getting started

Pick your roles in #roles, introduce yourself in #introductions, and say hello.
Three elements — a banner, then two embeds — published into one read-only channel.

Element types

Embed
The full set of slots — author and author icon, title, description, thumbnail, image, fields, color, footer, footer icon and timestamp. Fields can be marked as dividers.
Banner
An image element, drawn in the banner studio or uploaded. The usual home for section headers.
Text
A plain message, for anything that reads better without a card around it.
Separator
A horizontal rule with adjustable spacing. Components V2 only — a classic embed has nowhere to draw one.

Embeds or Components V2

A switch at the top of the builder decides which style the whole channel publishes in.

  • Embed — the classic bordered card. Familiar, and what most servers expect.
  • Components V2 — containers with real separators, a thumbnail as a section accessory and media galleries. Better for a long structured page; it is what makes the separator element possible.

Switching style reposts the elements

A published embed cannot be edited into a V2 container, so changing the design type replaces those messages. Do it before you link people at specific messages, not after.

Things to know

  • The preview is exactly what Discord will render, including which fields sit side by side.
  • Publishing validates first: an element missing something required blocks the publish and says which one.
  • Images you upload are stored by Arclo and released when you delete the element that used them.
  • The channel is normally read-only for @everyone, which is what makes it an information channel rather than a chat.
