Troubleshooting
A checklist for when a system is switched on and still does nothing, ordered by how often each cause turns out to be the answer.

Work down this list in order
It is sorted by frequency, not by likelihood in your specific case. The first four causes account for most reports in the support server.
1. Is the system actually on?
Check the switch at the top of the system's page, and the dot on its sidebar row. Some systems also have a second switch inside — Welcome & Goodbye has one per tab, and a logger has its own switch separate from the system it logs.
2. Can Arclo see and write in that channel?
Right-click the channel → Edit Channel → Permissions → find Arclo. A category-level deny beats a server-level allow, and a channel Arclo cannot view is one it cannot log, filter or post in.
3. Is Arclo's role high enough?
Anything involving roles or punishing members fails silently against people who outrank the bot. If it works on a normal member and not on a moderator, this is the answer.
4. Is something exempt?
Most systems have exemption lists, and they are easy to forget:
- Auto Moderation — per-rule and global channel, role and member exemptions.
- Levels — ignored channels, ignored roles, and a per-channel multiplier of zero.
- Logging — ignore lists for channels, roles and members.
- Moderation — immune roles, which also stop automatic punishments.
- Security — trust tiers, where Full bypass means never counted at all.
5. Is a command restricted?
A command can be switched off, limited to roles, or limited to a Discord permission from Command Info. A restricted command still appears in Discord's slash menu — Discord has no way to hide it — and answers with a refusal instead.
6. Is the interaction older than 15 minutes?
Buttons and dropdowns on messages Arclo posted keep working indefinitely. Replies to your command do not: Discord gives an application fifteen minutes to edit a reply, after which pagers and menus on it stop responding. Run the command again.
7. Did you check the logs?
With Logging on, Arclo records its own actions and its own failures, with the reason Discord gave. This turns most remaining questions into an answer in one line.
Symptoms and their usual cause
| What you see | Usually |
|---|---|
| Commands missing from the slash menu | Discord has not synced yet — reload with Ctrl + R, or wait a minute |
This interaction failed | The bot was restarting, or the button belongs to a message from a system since switched off |
| A message posts once and never again | The channel was deleted or renamed; re-pick it |
| Roles granted then immediately removed | Two systems disagree — check reaction roles, level rewards and auto roles for the same role |
| A counter channel stuck on an old number | Discord rate-limits channel renames hard; counters update on a schedule, not instantly |
| Log channel silent | The logger's own switch is off, or every event in that category is off, or the channel is on the ignore list |
| Timed punishment never lifted | Arclo lost Ban Members / Moderate Members after the punishment was applied |
Still stuck?
Bring three things to the support server: your server id, the exact thing you expected, and the exact thing that happened instead. A screenshot of the system page beats a description of it.
Still stuck? Ask in the support server — somebody there has almost certainly configured this before.
