Temporary Voice

Join-to-create voice channels members own and control — rename, limit, lock, hide, kick, transfer — with twenty-five controls available as buttons and as subcommands.

A hub is a voice channel that creates rooms. Somebody joins it, Arclo makes them a channel of their own, moves them into it, and deletes it when the last person leaves.

Setting up a hub

  1. Switch it on

    Utilities → Temporary Voice.

  2. Use Quick Setup, or build it by hand

Quick Setup creates the category, the join-to-create channel and a read-only panel channel, and publishes the control panel — in one press.

  3. Set the naming pattern

{user}'s room, with placeholders for the owner, a counter and the privacy state. A live example is shown as you type.

  4. Choose the defaults

User limit, bitrate, region, whether new rooms start locked, which category they land in, and the permissions the owner gets.

  5. Publish the panel

The button panel members use. There is also a compact interface Arclo posts inside each room.

Extra creator channels

One hub can have up to five extra join-to-create channels that share its configuration and override only the user limit and the name — the Duo / Trio / Squad pattern, without maintaining three hubs.

Voice Channels

Join the creator channel to get your own temporary voice channel.

Use the buttons below to manage it — rename it, lock it, set a user limit, trust friends and more. Every control is also a /voice command, with extras like bitrate, region and password.

What the owner can do

Twenty-five controls. Fifteen are on the default panel as a 3×5 grid of buttons; the rest are available as /voice subcommands and can be added to the panel per hub.

GroupControls
The roomRename, status, user limit, bitrate, region, NSFW, waiting room, linked chat
Who is in itTrust, untrust, block, unblock, invite, kick, password
PrivacyLock, unlock, hide, reveal
OwnershipClaim an abandoned room, transfer it, reset it to the hub's defaults
OtherInfo, find a room, join one, advertise, clear the chat, delete
  • Waiting room turns the lock into a knock: somebody asks, the owner accepts or declines.
  • Claim takes over a room whose owner left, either on request or automatically.
  • Member preferences are remembered, so the next room somebody creates can come back the way they had it.

Behaviour worth knowing

Renames are rate-limited by Discord

Two per ten minutes per channel. Arclo applies a five-minute cooldown and queues anything beyond it, applying the latest name when the window opens — so a member spamming rename gets the last one they asked for rather than a broken channel.

  • Empty rooms are deleted, optionally after a keep-alive delay so a brief disconnect does not destroy the room.
  • A hub can have fallback categories, so rooms keep being created after a category fills up.
  • Name filters (with wildcards) stop rooms being named things you would rather they were not.
