Polls
Up to twenty options, voted with reactions, buttons or a dropdown โ single or multiple choice, with results live, hidden until the end, or anonymous.
Polls are created from the dashboard or with /poll create, which walks you through it with a short wizard.
Choices
- Up to twenty, marked A to T. Letters rather than numbers, because Discord's keycap emoji stop at ten and eleven onward need two glyphs โ which a button's single emoji slot cannot hold.
- Twenty choices is four rows of buttons plus one control row, which is Discord's five-row maximum.
- Pick your own emoji per choice and Arclo leaves it alone; the lettered markers are only a default.

Vote styles
| Style | How members vote | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Reactions | React with the choice's marker | The default. No components on the message. |
| Buttons | One button per choice | Clearest for a handful of options. |
| Dropdown | A select menu | Best for long lists; Discord itself enforces the per-member choice cap. |
Reactions cannot be private
Discord shows both the counts and who reacted, so reaction voting is incompatible with hidden and anonymous results. Arclo refuses that combination rather than pretending โ the builder warns you as you set it.
Rules
- Single or multiple choice
- In single mode, picking again replaces the previous vote in one operation, so a double-click can never leave two.
- Maximum choices per member
- For multiple-choice polls.
- Allow vote changes
- Whether clicking your own choice again removes the vote.
- Vote cap
- A total number of votes that closes the poll automatically. Different from the per-member cap.
- Ends
- After a duration, at a specific moment, or never.
Results
| Mode | Who sees the tally |
|---|---|
| Live | Everyone, as it happens |
| Hidden | Nobody until the poll closes โ managers can peek with /poll show |
| Anonymous | Sealed for everyone; the voters browser is removed entirely |
The poll message itself shows the choices; the tally is a separate thing, used by the closed message, the Results button, the announcement and /poll show. Bars, percentages and counts are switches on the results rendering.
Extras
- Optional Results, Voters and Remove my vote buttons, all off by default.
- A thread can be opened for discussion and closed with the poll.
- Creator and manager roles decide who may make and manage polls.
