Social Alerts

Point Arclo at a Twitch channel, a YouTube channel, a subreddit, a GitHub repository, an RSS feed or a Spotify artist, and it announces every new thing exactly once — with your own message, in the channel you pick, mentioning the roles you choose.

1Creating an alert

   Open the platform's page

   Social Alerts → Twitch Alerts, YouTube Alerts, and so on.

   Find the account

   Start typing a name and Arclo searches the platform where it can, or accepts a handle or a URL. What you pick is confirmed against the platform before it is saved.

   Choose the channel

   Any text channel — or a forum, where each alert becomes a new thread.

   Pick the event types

   Platforms that emit more than one kind let you choose which. A platform with only one hides the block.

   Design the message

   The default is a good announcement out of the box. The message editor and a live preview are there when you want more.

   Nothing is written until you press it.

2Announced exactly once

Every announcement is claimed before it is sent, keyed to the platform, the source and the item. A stream that blips offline and back, a feed that edits an entry, a re-poll after a restart — none of them can produce a second alert.

• Sources are pooled: a streamer followed by a thousand servers is polled once, not a thousand times.
• Live streams have a short grace window, so a dropped connection that reconnects is the same stream rather than two.
• The master switch is checked when the alert is delivered, never when the item is ingested — a moment with the system off must not permanently mark something as announced.

The message

Display mode

Designed posts your embed. Link posts the raw URL and lets Discord unfurl it natively, which some servers prefer for videos.

Mentions

@everyone, @here or specific roles. The mention lives inside your message text, so you can put it wherever it reads best.

Post as

Arclo, the creator (their name and avatar, through a webhook), or a custom identity.

Link button

A button under the alert with the label and emoji you choose. Its URL is filled in automatically.

Placeholders vary a little by platform (each page lists its own) but always include {creator}, {title}, {url}, {description}, {avatar}, {thumbnail} and {platform}.

Filters

Up to ten rules per alert, matching all or any of them. A rule is a field, a test (contains, does not contain, or a regular expression) and a value. The fields available depend on the platform — a Twitch alert can filter on the category being streamed; a Reddit alert can filter on flair.

Crossposts from an announcement channel to every server following it.

Thread per alert

Opens a thread on each announcement — or, in a forum channel, posts each alert as its own thread.

Delete the previous alert

Keeps only the newest one in the channel.

Cooldown

A minimum gap between alerts from this source.

Maximum per day

A ceiling, for a feed that occasionally floods.

Streams

Twitch and Kick alerts carry extra options, because a stream is a thing that lasts:

• Auto-refresh keeps the live message's title, category, thumbnail and viewer count current while the stream runs.
• When the stream ends — leave the message, edit it into an ended state, or delete it.
• Live role — give the streamer a role while they are live and take it back afterwards.
• Scheduled event — create a Discord event for the stream.
• Minimum viewers, ignore reruns and skip mature streams filter which streams are worth announcing.

How fast alerts arrive

Arclo polls, and where a platform offers a live signal it uses it as a nudge to poll immediately rather than as a second path. Each platform page states its own expected delay honestly. Nothing here promises instant.

Availability

9 of the 14 platforms are available today. The rest are behind Premium — not as a business decision about which features are worth paying for, but because their data has a per-tracked-account cost or an access barrier Arclo does not control.
