Starboards

Members react to a message; once enough of them have, Arclo reposts it in your starboard channel with a live star count. Up to 3 boards per server, each with its own channel (two boards can't share one). A hall of fame, a cursed board and an art board can all run at once with different rules.

   Switch it on

   Server Management → Starboards, then New Starboard.

   Pick its channel

   Or choose Create a #starboard channel for me, and Arclo creates a read-only one that still allows reactions when you publish.

   Choose the reactions and threshold

   Counted reactions takes up to 10 emoji; the first is the primary one, which fronts the star count and the auto-react. Minimum reactions starts at 3.

   Design the post

   The default puts the live star count and the source channel (⭐ **7** | #general) above an embed with the message and its author, and a Jump to message button under it. Classic embed or Components V2, and every part is yours to change.

   Test and publish

   Send test message posts the design exactly as the preview shows it, with you as the author. A new board needs Save draft or Publish first; after that no save is needed. Save draft keeps the board switched off until you publish.

How counting works

Minimum reactions

How many stars before it is posted, from 1 to 500.

Count reactions on starboard posts

On by default, so a message keeps climbing after it has been reposted. The same person starring both places is counted once.

Allow multiple reactions per user

Off by default. Switched on, one member starring with three different counted emoji counts as three.

Downvote reactions

Up to 5 emoji that subtract. The net score decides posting and removal, and never drops below zero.

Ignore self-stars

On by default: an author's star on their own message doesn't count. Remove self-star reactions also takes the reaction away, which needs Manage Messages in that channel.

Ignore reactions on bot messages

On by default, with an option to remove those reactions too.

Role restrictions

Only these roles can star, or Everyone except these roles.

Channel restrictions

Only these channels, or Every channel except these. A thread counts as its parent channel.

Blocked members

Up to 100 members whose messages, stars, or both never count.

Requirements

Minimum and Maximum message age, Require an image for art and meme boards, and Minimum message length. The ages and the length are off at 0.

Allow age-restricted channels

Off by default. Even switched on, a message from an age-restricted channel only posts if the starboard channel is age-restricted too. Never repost their images posts its text and link but leaves the media behind.

Allow private channels

A message from a channel @everyone can't open never reaches a board everyone can read, unless you allow it. A private board channel takes them either way.

Milestones

Optional tiers, up to 10: once the count reaches a tier, the star emoji changes, and the embed color with it if you give the tier one. Off by default, with the classic ladder pre-seeded for when you switch it on: 🌟 at 5, 💫 at 10, ✨ at 25. While milestones are on, a slider above the preview lets you drag the count and watch the post change.

Extras

• Link buttons: up to 5 per board, with {message_link} resolving to the original message.
• DM notification: a designed DM to the author the first time one of their messages reaches the board. Reposts never re-notify, and closed DMs are skipped quietly.
• Ping the author: mentions in the design always show; this switch makes them actually notify.
• Show attachments and Show reply context, both on by default, bring the first image and a short Replying to… line along.
• Remove on delete and Sync edits, both on by default, keep the post in step with the original. Auto-react to starboard posts adds the primary emoji to each post so members can keep voting there.
• Private starboard: hidden from every /starboard command for anybody without Manage Messages.
• Logging: one logger for the whole system, on the Starboards page, records posts, removals and every moderation action.

Moderating a board

/starboard message covers the lot, for anybody with Manage Messages: Info (status and star breakdown), Recount (re-read the reactions from Discord), Force (post it regardless of the rules), Freeze (lock the count and the post) and Trash (remove it and never repost), each with its undo: Unforce, Unfreeze and Untrash.

• A board post deleted by hand is treated as trashed and never comes back on its own, until somebody untrashes it.
• With Remove on unstar on (the default), a post that drops below the threshold is taken down and returns if it climbs again. Repost cooldown (60 seconds by default, up to an hour) stops the member whose un-star removed it from bringing it straight back.
• Forcing a message the board has never tracked takes its full message link, and only works for a channel you can read yourself.
